Southwyck's New PPD Liaison

Southwyck welcomes its new Pearland Police Department Liaison, Sgt. David Nagle. For Southwyck homeowners living in the City of Pearland (Emerald Pointe, Huntington Park, Southfield Village, and Southglen),
Sgt. Nagle has a squad of officers who patrol hot spots. If you see any vandalism or potential trouble give him a call at 713-775-4007. Southwyck has had damage to mailboxes, pool equipment, and other instances of vandalism. Please work with your neighbors and the PPD to put an end to this. Non emergency Pearland Police can be reached at 281-652-1100.
Cross Usage Agreement Between Southwyck and Silverlake

Great News! Southwyck Section IV and Silverlake HOAs have negotiated a new cross usage recreational facilities agreement. This agreement allows residents from Section IV to use the Silverlake pool, tennis courts, and clubhouse. Silverlake residents now have access to the 3131 Morgan Road pool and park. The Southwyck Section I board and management company, AMI, are continuing negotiations with Silverlake.

A green picture card issued by Section IV with a 2008 sticker will permit you and one guest entry to the Silverlake pool. Reservations for use of the Silverlake clubhouse should be made through PCMI at 281-870-0585. Any Section V resident with a Section IV green card may use the Silverlake pool.

A form is available here and in the June newsletter. Southwyck residents, please use this form to purchase the electronic card allowing access to the Silverlake tennis courts.

More information about Silverlake is available from the Silverlake HOA web site.

Southwyck Projects Update

The association continues to work on projects throughout the community. Here are some areas the Board has been working on. Please feel free to contact us about concerns and requests at Info@SouthwyckHome.com.

RENOVATIONS - on the monument entry into Southfield Village at Bentley & Morgan Road. The monuments had to be adjusted due to shifting and unstable soil. This required engineering surveys and City permits. The next project planned is the Duesenberg at CR 89 entrance along with the Versailles and Auburn at Southfork entrances where lighting and brick restoration bids are being sought. The picture below shows improvements at the Southmanor entrance comleted earlier this year.

IRRIGATION - Section IV recently replaced the 20 year-old irrigation system at the Morgan Road park.

SOUTHWYCK LAKE PARK - The latest upgrade is the covered and lighted pergola shown below.

FENCE REPLACEMENT - Fence bids are being evaluated for the Southfield Village wood fence. The wood fence replacement has been completed by Southwyck Community Association for Southglen and Emerald Pointe on CR 89 and on Fite Road. Recent work on the Southglen/Emerald Pointe fence replacement is shown below.

Southwyck Section V Board News

-Lisa Fontenot

It has been a pleasure to act as your President for the past seven years. In that time, we have come a long way from financial crisis to a point where we have a few funds to improve our section. We now have a full slate of officers who work diligently to make our section a safe, secure, and stable place to call home.

With that firmly in place, I tended my resignation as of the April Section V Board Meeting. Personal illness makes it hard for me to give all that I have in the past years. I am still in the community and fully intend to remain active in the association. Just a little lighter load.

It was with some sadness and some relief that I passed the torch on to our current Vice President, Alexa St. Julian, at the April Section V Board Meeting.

Alexa has been a member of the Section V community for 7 years. She has served as a Director and as Vice President of the Section. With a working knowledge of how we have grown, she has assumed the role of President of Section V with ease.

Please help me welcome Alexa St. Julian as our new President of the Southwyck Section V Home Owners Association.
